Does anyone know the age and origins of chess?

 I found my self wondering about the history of chess today. The game itself has been around for a very long time.. I was curious to learn if anyone knows the facts?

    Chess is commonly believed to have originated in India during the Gupta empire-

    From wiki chess history.. props to the indians for making a truly enjoyable game!

    there are many theories to it.. but, CHESS is believed to have come from INDIA..
