Game 1991

This is a game I played on Nov/22/1991 in Tepic,Nayarit Mexico against IM Alfonso Almeida Saenz the then Mexico's National Champion rated at 2322 at the time.

The tournament was an National active tournament very popular at the time, For those of you who don't know what active means, its time controls of 30 min per side for the entire game, Which was very popular at the time after Karpov won the first World active chess tournament in Mexico.

I remember walking into the hall that day and my chess friends call me and tell me ' guess who you are playing first round' I said who, they answered Alfonso, I said Alfonso who, well after telling me who it was, I got nervous but was determined to do the best I could.

I only wrote down 39 moves of the game because at move 39 I had 5 min's left on my clock and blitz the rest of the game, I lost the game.

One other note My name is Luis Martinez but all my chess friends in Mexico called me chapo which in English means potzer, So i use my nickname in my account, here is the game

the time control of only 30 min's for whole game gets difficult toward the end you don't have much time to think so after move 39 with only 5 min's left I blitz the rest of the game and lost, I don't remember how much time my opponent had left but I remember he had more time than me.
