Haste makes Waste

Cool        Hello, my name is Jeff and I'm writing so that anyone that feels rushed to get to the middle or ending of a chess game will find this information useful.

Sometimes during a game of chess I'm ahead positionally,but suddenly I'm at a disadvantage because I see a move and take it, but that isn't what chess is all about; you must first look for a good move, then ask yourself is there a better one. A good and patient analysis of the position you're in will help you to minimize your loss of valuable pieces. Do not get overwhelmed by the time on the clock or your opponent's seemingly threatening moves, it is important to be positionally sound so that you do not deploy your pieces prematurely.

    Very wise.  It reminds me of a Biblical reference.

    Pro 7:22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

    Pro 7:23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it [is] for his life.

    Guard your Queen.
