Interesting Position

After reading about how Fischer at one point said that some of his most interesting games were the ones he played against himself, I've been trying to play against myself. I find his statement rather arrogant, but I decided to give it a try just to see - in my opinion, it's dreadfully boring, probably because I'm still a beginner.

In any case, this position has arisen where I thought Black had the obvious advantage, and now I'm not too sure. Feel free to comment on the position (I'd give it a -0.5 or so), and also what lines you see as being best play for both sides.

Interesting game. I think that from an initial first look, it seems as though the game is almost totally drawn, with white's aggressive bishop combating black's steady structure. White has and IQP, which I have always found leads to fun and fast-paced tactical games. However, as I try to analyze this game, it seems to me that if black plays smart and steadily increases the pressure, white will eventually become worse off. Here's one possible line. Black to move with b5 combating the bishop and pushing a pawn down trying to solidify and block off white's rook lines. After b5 Be2. RxR is a possibility, but I'm having black play warily here, and so would have him play a6 defending the b5 pawn. a6 g4 Be6 Rb1. Rb1 because it would be very difficult to maintain defense on the a2 pawn, and because after Rb1 Qd5 white plays a4 PxP and white grabs an open file. Then Rb6 trying to regain material black simply responds with a5 Nh3 to try and bring the g pawn into action, and mobilize the Knight to an aggressive square.  After Nh3 Qa2 offering queen trade, Rb2 denying Qa3, and at this point I'd give black an advantage of +1.00  because his pieces seem to be more easily mobilized and he has instant aggressive play on the a pawn, then he has doubled passed pawns on an open file, he owns the c-file, and white's queen and d-rook is blocked by the IQP. Interesting position, perhaps not infallible analysis, but from the way I see it, black has the advantage in this game. Thanks for the post!

"I find his statement rather arrogant."

Bobby spent a lot of his childhood living apart from his mother. In his solitude he set up chessboards in different rooms around the home. He would make a single move one night, and then rotate the board. He'd then sleep in another room on the next night. It took a long time to finish a single game at this rate, about 6 months. As he was learning a great deal about chess at the time, he'd frequently come back to an old position to understand it more fully, often spotting a mistake which he had previously thought was an excellent move. So I can fully understand how these would be the among his most interesting games, as he watched himself develop into a stronger player.
