Joker Piano Trobules

So I studied a few openings now I'm learning sicilian and ruy lozep but I guess I'm playing the old benoni as black just because I win the pawn back after a check with my queen!!! Anyways, so I get into troulbe with Joker Piano and that type of set up were the bishop doesn't go all the way to the ruy lozep. So I wanted to see if anyone could say how to avoid Joker Piano if your black and you don't feel much like playing that way. OK, good lucks and have fun in your chess!!!

Thanks! I don't now about 2 knights so I could look more at that one. Anything better than facing the Joker!! Smile

You could always try the Two Knights Defence 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 but that leaves you vulnerable to the Fried Liver (Fegatello) attack 4.Ng5 which is perhaps not White's soundest response but can be difficult to defend.

You could also avoid the Joker and its big brother, El Español (3.Bb5) which is even stronger, by playing a non-symmetrical opening:  Sicilian, Caro-Kann, Philidor, Pirc, Modern, whatever.

That great chess coach, Russell Crowe, said in the Gladiator:  "No matter what comes out of that gate we'll meet it better if we stand together."  And no matter what opening you play, you'll have a better game if you're prepared.
