personality is the way.  you need to know and like (then love) the personality a beautiful person who makes you feel like crap is a true curse.

Personality is the choice for me because beauty may be the reason we fall in love but personality keeps the relationship moving on and on... Regards.

in these day beauty is important  for starting a serious relationship . BUT you have to keap your personnality as it, if you want to continue your relationship.

Good looks attract for a moment but personality, enthusiasm, sense of humor attract for a lifetime.

If the question your asking is: how important is appearance or physical attraction you meet someone?... the answer is very important and looks always play a role.  Perhaps others are not willing to admit it here for fear you might judge them as shallow. 

Physical attraction is clearly the door opener in the beginning of almost every relationship; long-term or short.  Despite certain uncommon exceptions, the eyes meet before anything else.  That being said, one can be physically attracted to someone due to an inner beauty, perhaps enhanced by a beautiful personality.  Let us not purposely under sell or under value the vital importance of physical attraction or beauty.  I dare argue it's may even be an instictive behavior and is very natural.  Worry not about being judged because you are bold enough to say that physical attraction matters.  It absolutely does.  All that personality gooble-d-gook in these other posts factor in AFTER the flame begins with physical attraction based on looks, period.

Take it from me, I know.  For I am completely irresitable.  Many women would compromise their own standards to be with me.  For example, I chain smoke cigarettes like a smoke stack.  Yet, militant non-smoking women find themselves in my sports car breathing in my second hand smoke very willingly just to gaze at me with the hopes for passion and intimacy.  Can you blame them? 

personality, the fact i was just rejected by a guy ive liked since 1st grade 4 lookin like a gothic emo.  black isnt a bad color, just cuz u like the shade and u wear it almost wear it every day doesnt mean ur emo or gothic people come on!!!!

for a stable long term relationship to work, personality must matter. Who wants to be in a long term relationship with someone you don't even like?

Now beuty may help in the relationship, but what "love" you feel because of it is actually Lust. Another point, anyone can see beuty in anything, or even anyone.
