Here is my match against Graham Mill-Wilson. I was looking forward to this, as we've never played each other long play OTB before, and I always beat him online and starting to beat him in rapidplay :D Anyway, here is the game:
Yeah nxb4. Great move you were obviously thinking well ahead.
That was the game-breaker.
LOL!! Have fun, hope you win, and Graham to come 2nd!
I know Tom. I can't wait for Dec 9. But then I have my own problems before then. A drunken weekend in Torquay with chess and steaks on the menu.
Pete, I've said before and I'll say it again, I have a nice surprise for our Medows, and also, you said for me to blog this one!!!
Oh don't be such a spoilsport Pete! Tom and I played 3 live games earlier, each with a different opening. All I know about him is that he's getting very sharp with his tactics. Not much I can do about that; it's not in my nature to play something boring like a Slav exchange... Or a Colle.
You do of course realise Tom. That by the time we get to play the Uni in Dec. Mike will know all he needs to know about your game and how you play.
Blogging your games can be good and fun but could end your run.
:D :D :D
Very nice Tom. Your tactics are really impressive. I also like the sensible approach to the endgame.
Cool game! I really like the Nxb4 and the way your rooks massacred his pawns near the end.
good game! i think the mate you missed due to time, as u say u only had 15 min. left, would be 31.......b5! and mate in 3 or 4 moves. well played!
thanks!!
well played ... Graham is a tough opponent to beat
