After reading Lord of the Rings for, say, the 5th time, I was struck by how much it could be compared to a chess match. In fact, Gandalf even referred to the battle as a chess match several times. I was too lazy to re-enact the whole story, so I just used the final undoing of Sauron and the One Ring instead.
