Do profile pictures enhance your chess experience?

I love submitting photos for my photo album on my profile page so that those who play with me will see the real person behind the pictures. I include pictures of my family, my surroundings, etc. I even try to change the profile pictures often so that my image will be fresh and inviting to people who may wish to challenge me. Meeting people via chess is fun and it's nice to associate a picture with a name......So my next item of discussion is this .......Are you more likely to play with someone who has a "real face" or "an avatar" or "you know"  Let loose and let me know. I'm not here to judge -- just kind of curious to know what you might think about this. (Then again, maybe the answers will be that it all depends...)

I also have a negative rather than neutral or positive response to "the gray-non-pics".

To quote Steve Martin, they are "dull, boring and omnipresent". I in-joy changing my

photos. I'm too vain to post an actual current "likeness" of myself. Before Summer

Vacation, a group of my High-School Girls asked ,"Mr. B. did your hair used to be blond?"

I've worn a Sombrero since. So, Eva Green, AKA  Vesper Lynd of James Bond--Casino Royale

2006-- is my main subject to choose from. Heck, I log-on often to see her and end-up

playing Chess with cool people from around the World. RH

I prefer real pictures of real people.....you know I guess it just depends....I was rather afraid of that....but as for you, I love your profile picture because it matches YOUR personality completely......I just find myself not liking the gray-non-pics.. . . .

Interesting, I tend to like playing against anyone with both and avatar/picture and some type of written profile. It shows there's a person there and may lead to interesting conversation during the game. I would at first say I don't care what they choose for their "face" picture, but now that I've thought about it I would prefer some type or representative picture and not a real one. I think it allows me to get a better idea of what they're into or something about their personality. Of course when they have a photo album posted, then I prefer personal pictures of their self and not just funny or interesting pictures they've found on the internet.
