Milestone reached

Well I've just completed my 100th game and I joined chess.com some 8 months ago. So far 80% win ratio but that may drop now as I'm playing stronger players now. You might not be impressed by this (100 games I mean) and I realise that many of you have 100's in progress and are into the 1000's but I tend to do things slowly. Anyway just thought I'd give myself a pat on the back! Have to start preparing myself for the local league starting in July. Switching from online to OTB is going to be quite traumatic....

Wow I just realised now that I've passed the 200 games completed mark. As expected my win ratio has dropped - to 65% in fact - mainly because I am playing those in my group and stronger. Its taken me about 2 years to get to this stage but then I made a conscious decision a while ago to reduce my workload on chess.com. I only play certain tournaments and team matches now... and a few vote chess matches... but still enjoying it... WP league starts soon...

Hi Forrie, I read your first statement and I tend to agree, also you don't get more than two analyses for a "mistake" (one with your move and one with the suggested move), and I have seen outright blunders in them too! I am on platinum just to get the strongest analysis but it still sucks, think I might downgrade because of that.

    Oh and congratulations Steveira! Cool

Just as I thought... since reaching that milestone I have played 9 games and lost 6 of them. My rating has gone below 2000 but my average opponent rating has climbed to the mid 1600's. I guess finally the 2 will meet at around 1800?

But the 7 easy wins against me shouldn't count

Thanks forrie - Ive used the analysis function once or twice but agree with you that I dont always agree with its findings.

Congrats Steveira, with your 100 games! yes it is better to do it slow but properly - that way one probably learns the most!

By the way, have you ever used this computer analysis function on chess.com? I am very disgussed with it - i used it tonight for the first time for a game I thought I made a brilliant move (I sacrificed a pawn to create a passed pawn and won quickly thereafter) - the computer however said that it was a blunder! The comp ana is a waste of time!
