My cousin Gail is ill.

Submitted by rich on Fri, 07/03/2009 at 1:24pm.

My cousin Gail had this weird bulge on her head that was paining her for a while, and it had a little hole in it which was leaking this strange yellow substance out. So we then went to the hospital and the doctor give her anesthetic, and shaved her head where it was so he could get to it; he cut it to see what was there and this weird worm came out maybe about 3 inches in lenth! They didn't know what it was and the hospital have now sent it off to the experts for analysi to find out what this is. It was really horrible.

I'd recommend some type of radiographic scan. Also, a few prayers.

Rich, I think that if the doctor examined her carefully he would have noticed the other bulge you're referring to, but I guess it's possible he could have missed it. Whatever the case, I recommend that you call the doctor immediately, to advise him, or her, of this latest discovery.

I hope she gets better, Rich.

But what you described doesn't soound too serious if taken care of. The bulge is probably an imune system defence against the worm. As long as they make sure that was the only worm and it didn't lay any eggs, it should be over soon.

Hopefully, the doctor who treated your cousin was able to determine what was wrong and corrected the problem. Wishing her a speedy recovery.
