Im a fan of metal and hard rock as well, but I totally agree with Zolaweed about Nickleback, I simply don't get it. But, to each their own, it's obvious that Zolaweed and I are in the minority, because they have very good sales numbers.

Not a bad collection although I can't stomach Iron Maiden so they can take a back seat. Pantera have done way better songs- Walk, This love, Fucking hostile, to name just a few. Metallica have also done better songs- Master of puppets, one, And justice for all and so on...What you see in Nickleback i've no idea but the deftones are cool too your list is cool but needs a little tweeking if you ask me ;)

Good list. I love all the bands mentioned, but my favorite song choice may vary :p Iron maiden, i'd go with Run to the hills/Hallowed be thy name/The wicker man. Trivium, um, Pull harder on the strings of your martyr :) and Nickelback i love Side of the bullet, apart from that Saving me, Someday, This is how you remind me. Hell i like most of the Nickelback songs.

Breaking Benjamin-Diary of Jane, Until the end, Breath. Most of their songs are really good. They come under Alternate rock. You might like em though.

Chevelle-The Red, Closure, The Clincher. Again most of em are good.

Opeth-Harvest.

Boston-More than a feeling, Peace of mind.

Deftones-Minerva, Bored.

Iron Maiden and Metallica and Pantera all have better songs than those (22 Acacia Avenue, Aces High, Be Quick or Be Dead, Number of the Beast, Run to the Hills, The Prisoner; Hero of the Day, Ride the Lightning, The Four Horsemen, Trapped Under Ice, Unforgiven; Cowboys from Hell, Shattered).  Hard to argue with "Thunderstruck", but AC/DC has others that should be in this list too (most notably, Dirty Deed and Shoot To Thrill).  I can't see how the Foo Fighters belong on this list at all.  Even if we restrict our attention to just F bands, Faith No More, Fat Boy Slim, Fight, Fine Young Cannibals, (the) Fixx, Flock of Seagulls, Foghat, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, (the) Fray, and Fuel are all much better.  And especially FOREIGNER!!!  Are you not familiar with Juke Box Hero, for example?

 

David Groh (is that his name?) was great with Nirvana, but that's about it.
