Players / Members?

Today's rank #1596 of 12,285. Thats me, however, when I look at the country list I see that
Chess.com has 106,206 members from 222 countries!
Is there a difference between players and members? or is there 93,921 missing people on chess.com every day? Whats up with this? = )
