Psychological factors that lose chess games.

After dropping over 100 points in the live blitz category I have done some thinking about the psychological side of things. Surely when you make mistakes over and over again that you know straight away in hindsight why they are mistakes something else is going on. I noticed there is not much literature on this area of the game but i have been told about a good book called the seven deadly chess sins by Rowson which covers this subject.

My thoughts on this:

Egotism: Loss due to underestimation of opponent or overwhelming desire for revenge.

Energy: Loss due to lapses in concentration from fatigue.

Preparedness: Loss due to lack of 'chess fitness' such as visualization (chess tactics etc.)

Characterism: Loss due to perfectionism / impulsivity which affect the management of time.
