Re: "Chess Fatigue."

October 26, 2008

Hello;

A lot of players don't REALISE this, but there is such a thing as CHESS FATIGUE. When you play TOO MANY games, you become MENTALLY exchausted, and EMOTIONALLY drained. The consequences? YOU LOSE!!!

Yes, you start to LOSE games, even to WEAK players. This has happened to me before. If you notice, I DON'T play more than FOUR players at the same time! And then, I REST after I'm done with the last player.

Why?..... I DON'T and WILL NOT allow myself to fall into what I'd like to call....CHESS FATIGUE. How do I know? Just looking at the RATINGS... those so called "strong players" who have DEFEATED me in the past are now in the CELLAR or BASEMENT. Way down in ratings, and not even worth playing against, because I only play AGAINST highly rated players!

I have to... to IMPROVE my game and LEARN, like those goblins would tell me. Trust me, this is true. You know, after all, we are NOT machines, like a computer that is PROGRAMMED to play good Chess.  Simply put... SIMPLE human beings, who are PRONE to BREAKDOWN, mentally and emotionally.

We don't realise this until our RATINGS go all the way....DOWN. And then, we DON'T even realise this, until it's AWFULLY difficult to get out of the RUT we find ourselves in.

I don't play more than FOUR players at once... and even then, I REST after I'm done with the last player. I REST to recharge my batteries, and come back stronger than ever. As of right now, I'm happy with my ratings. And I INTEND to go up another notch... when I'm READY... and STRONG... to play again.

    Slim, I don't really know how to explain this; but everytime I logon to chess.com, you are there (already logged on) since you belong to my friends list.  I don't know how you don't get the chess fatigue being logged on all the time (at least that's what it seems like).  Don't you ever go to sleep?

    Hello;

    For myself, I don't enjoy the game of Chess unless I win. Otherwise.... what's the point in playing Chess? Chess is like the real world, especially in business. In business you have what they call "hostile takeover". You "take over" someone else's ASSETS, whether they like it or not, by using the LEVERAGE you have.

    And the more assets you have, the more you can control.. until you can CONTROL the whole situation. Yes, just like business. As in BUSINESS... it will cost you if you make the WRONG decision. And that COST... really is the dimunition of ASSETS... until you have nothing else to INVEST... and you lose control of everything. And you LOSE the game. Capitz?

    Just like in business, some people are smarter than others, that's why they are richer.. for the experience, and monetary gain. In the case of Chess, the so called "wealth" translates into  RATINGS. That is it's equivalent. Your RATINGS or "wealth" separates you from others.

    If I were to play the game of Chess, just to play and enjoy whether I win or I lose, is like BEAR STEARNS, AIG, and all these other LOSERS who don't seem to care... why? Because when they play the game of business, and they LOSE.. the government is always there to BAIL them out... and they can thus sleep well at night. Not to worry.

    Translation?... APATHY and IRRESPONSIBILITY go hand in hand. So?... they "let George do it". I'm not naming names, this is just an ole' cliche. It's like, let somebody else take the responsibility... who cares?... We then LOSE the spirit of competition... and the fun is GONE.

    Make sense?
