There's nothing really wrong with your tactical play, but in my opinion, you should try to be more aggressive in the opening. Opening choice aside, within a few moves you went from causing problems to reacting to ones from your opponent.

For instance, 4. Bd2 isn't essential, if he swaps off you didn't have to play a3 gaining you time while he concedes the bishop pair. The doubled pawns won't really matter since black will have to attack your centre and help you undo the c-pawns. Also, in the sort of opening you had, you want your light-squared bishop to go to d3, to spy on h7 instead of worrying about the knight-queen pin.

Overall though, good game, Mike is a solid and strong player. Good to see you playing again!

Interesting game Phil, lots of manouevering and swapping of pieces. Difficult to see a win for either side at the end, as far as I can tell anyway...
