Stop Motion Animation

Well, after about a years break away from animating, i've decided tgo take it up again. So i broke out the modeling clay and began to create my characters xD

Needless to say, i was rusty at first to say the least, (The first 'man' i made had a rather mis-shapen stomach and an immensely large head compared to his body!) however, i continued in my endevor to re-master my previous 'skills'.

Several attempts later, i had finaly created  a handful of creatures and people that i was happy with and began to bring them to life through the wonder that is stop motion!

I then decided that, whilst not the world's best animations, they were good enough to display so created a youtube page dedicated to this wonderful ass time xD

For those few of you who are actually interested :P http://www.youtube.com/user/StpMotion

So yea, that about rounds it up for now!
If any of you chess fans have any good ideas for an animation etc, gimmi a call!

Later!

Sam

Haha! Sounds a cool idea xD I'll give it a go after i finish the one im working on!

Yea, basically it is just that, a whole heap of still frame pictures when run in sequence look like a moving picture - Remember the old flip books people had as a kid?

Anyway, i set up a camera on a tripod so the camera doesn't move. That way i can ensure that it is only the characters moving in the frame. I also leave everything exactly as is was overnight or when i just go for a break in the 'studio' i have set up so hopefully nothing gets disturbed xD

There's a pretty decent software package called 'I Can Animate' for both Mac and Windows platforms which works pretty well. It has a good feature where you can see the previous frame as a translucent image behind the frame you are working on yet wont appear when the picture is taken which helps you to realign any accidents that occur!

Hey, pretty neat. I don't know how you make something like that - a lot of still pictures and a lot of time?  How do you remember the position everything is in from frame to frame?

Could you make one where chess pieces are live characters and maybe one piece does not want to move to a certain space as he is being sacrificed for the greater good?

    Nice job!
