Strange Ending - Chessdweeb vs DeepNf3

Submitted by ChessDweeb on Sat, 11/17/2007 at 7:06pm.

Here's a game I just finished. Just skip right to the end position. I think this is the first time I ever ended up with two knights and four pawns versus two knights and four pawns. I think my position was slightly worse but my opponent and I agreed to a draw.

Endgames are the most difficult and least exciting part of the game. Most players don't enjoy them; so naturally they would be the most important as well.

good game. i agree with DeepNf3; endgames are very important and we should spend more time on them to become better playersLaughing most of my good games have come in long endgames!

I know. I spend way too much time trying to get positional gains. Thanks for the advice. I'll focus on the endgame studies a little more. I think I have a prpensity to think in terms of keeping a game even when I should be thinking how to win. thanks!!!

ChessDweeb because of your style of play I think "you will need" to take some time and study some complex endgames (minor pieces endgames), endgame knowledge will come handy since you seem to be a rather positional player, positional players tent to squeeze their wins in the transition to the endgame face of the game..

I haven't looked up (endgame position in the game) the game indepth, but I wouldn't have minded to play out the endgame with the white pices, because of white's pawn structure in the center black has to be very careful since it is obvious that the h pawn can't win the game..

In move 28 and 29 the game has a very nice symetry to it.
