Friends,
Yesterday, I returned from my third deployment to Iraq in the last six years. All three times I found myself in fairly demanding jobs, both during the preparation to deploy and the actual deployment.
Through those trials, a number of people helped me get through each day. After my family and comrades, the largest group was probably you - my friends and opponents at chess.com. Just having something to take my mind off of the day's (or all too often, night's) events helped me keep my balance and perspective. So thank you.
I am home for a while now. While my sabre is not over the mantle permanently, with luck it will remain in it's scabbard for a good while. I look forward to spending a little more time on the 64 square battlefield and less time in the sandy covered fields of Iraq.
Thank you again.
