the game that can only be discribed by art

Submitted by add on Mon, 01/14/2008 at 7:40am.

those who play chess for fun dismiss it as a game, those who divote there lives to it insist on it being a sience and math. But Bobby Ficsher got under it like now one before and found at it's center art.

Bobby Ficsher is dead, but we will see him every time we look at a chess board.

May the greatest chess player in the world rest in peace.

I would agree if it was, but despite appearances, it is not. How do I know? I SUCK at art class in school. My chess is not only okay, but I am actually capable of improving it, unlike my mediocre artistic skills. If you could see my handwriting, you could guess how bad and sloppy I am in art, even when I take twice as much time as everyone else to complete something. At least I am rewarded for effort. In chess, effort does not count, only results do - another difference between the two. Chess is not an art, nor is it a sport (which requires good physical condition, another thing that I lack), nor is it as simple or casual as a mere game. It is either science, math, or it is so great that it deserves a category of its own. What is that category? Chess. Chess is chess, nothing greater, nothing less.

You make that sound like a daily chore Callie calm down just let him go if all else fails he'll find a spellcheck button, or if you pester him enough about spelling I may start to misspell on purposeWink. Just joking . Nice article I think you could have done somemore explaining though
