The road to 2000 ELO. A strange dip in form

Submitted by gambitattack on Mon, 09/07/2009 at 11:00am.

Recently, I have not been able to get out of a recent slum in form which has taken me to the depths of 1500 ELO and below.Usually I never struggle with maintaing a 1600 ELO rating on playchess.com but lately I find that I am finding it difficult to contain even 1400 ELO opponents.

I am getting rather discouraged and as a result my moves have suffered somewhat. I seem to be making much more blunders then usual.

Hmm.. I definitely need some time out to sort things out. I hope to be able to post some nice wins (and instructional losses) soon.

Cheers.

Mark

I definitely do not agree with you on this MorphyChess. Playing on the internet has definitely made me a stronger chess player. And I'm confident that majority of people will agree with me here.

Playing games on an online server does not improve your chess skills.  Try playing with someone real.
