The Trompowski Attack

I would like to say that the Trompowski Attack, (1.d4 Nf6 2. Bg5 for people who don't know) is a good way to counter Nf6 against d4 w/out having to play against a Nimzo/KID setup. I play the Trompowski a lot and I have found it produces EXCELLENT results, for it is a very uncommon opening. I would like to see more people play it, so please at least take a look at the opening.

Love it -- though lately, I've been playing e3 ahead of the Bishop in favor of dropping it on b2 -- I know, it's trendy...

I find if black gets ...e6 out early, the B on g5 has much more sting -- and then, it's a Torre Attack.  Find a copy of "Winning With the Torre Attack" for the best details.

But for the Tromp proper I think the books by Davies, Gallagher, and Peter Wells might be the main sources....Davies is a very good author, IMHO.

    Best,
