Chess.com has 16 GMs, 24 IMs, 31 FMs, 2 CMs, 22 NMs, 1 WGM, 2 WIMs for a total of 98 titled players.  There are probably at least a dozen more players who have titles, but do not wish to advertise it.  No one has advertised their ICCF (International Correspondence Chess Federation) or other correspondence rating, which would be a better comparison.  Of the 98 titled players, only 47 of them have actually played an online game at chess.com and 51 have never played a game at chess.com.

A quick comparison rating are as follows:

It seems like after 4 months,

there are 4 2900+ rated players..

We will easily see 3000+ in the next couple months..

Please update this! Thanks.

I would love to see titled players play without engines, for they can't use them OTB in rated OTB chess.  But, this goes the same for us patzers who have never studied chess in our lives.  I want to see true competition...

i don't believe that Cuendillar(2807) is a cheater. his Tactics Trainer rating is just excellent (2940 ) & isn't it impossible to cheat in Tactics Trainer ?

My interpretation of this post is a clear statement that the top four are cheaters.

And guess what?! LucidDream is now banned for cheating .

Thanks.

Interesting stuff.  Note that if you look at the top players stats (Ouachita), he has played Julio Becerra (top GM on the site) a number of times and has never lost to him (looks like 6 draws and one win).

Obviously Julio Becerra has just as much time to think about his moves as ouachita does, so what does this say about how good ouachita is (at least for correspondence chess)?

Interesting stats.  Thanks Bill.  My intuition suggests that Chess.com ratings are around 100-200 points above FIDE ratings and, although not conclusive, this list would lend some support to that.

To us, it doesnt matter they have high ratings.Even if they are grandmasters or non-grandmaster its a good opportunity that we can play chess with them. How we stack against them. In the end we learned and its our pleasure that we play with a grandmasters or a non-grandmaster. In the end what is important is that we enjoy and have fun playing with chess.

i wonder why cuendiller don't try for IM or GM title. his Live chess rating is so we well & Tactics Trainer rating (2940 in 102 attempt) as well.

thank you billwall I didn't realized that there were so many titled players.

It would be very interesting to have our chess.com titled players championship. (Just a suggestion).

As you guys can see

if you click on any titled players in the Online Chess spot,

you will see that they are rising.. (because they started from 1200 and now are rising)

so therefore in a couple months the titled players will sweep the top spots

Although the top on-line chess players have incredible ratings they are probably not quite GM strength. You may notice that their live chess ratings are not nearly so incredible. These guys are great players, but they are also just really careful on-line chess players, pouring tons of time and thought into every move. They probably wouldn't play at those numbers OTB.
