Woah!!

Submitted by Zenchess on Tue, 07/01/2008 at 9:02pm.

Ok, so at around 5:05 pm on Friday my power went out, then we had some huge winds, around 90 miles per hour.  Trees were uprooted, cut in half, total havoc man.

I don't have internet yet...and went without power for a while too.  It was crazy!  The best part was that everyone who lived next to each other came out and started talking, and helping move debris.  It was probably the first time most of the people had seen each other even though they live within 40 steps of each other.

Our town is also hosting the olympic trials (omaha), and I saw a huge # of people leaving the trials and walking downtown to either party or get in their cars.  Unfortunately I couldn't join them, because I needed to contact my boss and let him know what was going on.

   Utter madness!!!!!  =)

P.s. I have spent some of this time playing some of the chess personalities in chessmaster grandmaster edition, and watching Josh Waitzkin lectures.  =)  I've also spent quite a few of the last few days hanging out, drinking, partying, having a blast, seeking adventure since I don't have to work.

In any case, I plan to spend the rest of my life seeking adventure and getting outside!  I spent years cooped up in my room fiddling around with the internet, computers, and playing games.  I've finally made enough money that I can move soon (planning on moving to california), and I'm looking forward to meeting lots of people and working on lots of exciting projects!

Thanks

-Jacob

Ahhh buddy, this sounds very exciting. The forces of nature conspiring to shock people out of their dull routines, you reflecting on powerful potentialities... somewhere in the grand scheme of your life plan you should include one wherein you and I run into each other and have a blast too.

From what I've heard from you in the last few months you've really been getting on an awesome path. You're an impressive guy, Jacob,

All the best!
