Introducing Chess.com's Study Plans!

How many tactics should I do each day?... What articles should I read if I am a beginner player wanting to "take the next step"?... What videos will help improve my Endgame?... Which Mentor Courses will make me a better strategist? At my level, should I be playing more - or studying more?...

... Sound familiar? Well, if any of these questions keep YOU awake at night, wonder no longer:

Today Chess.com launches a totally new type of content: Study Plans! Our goal is to bring uncertainty and aimlessness to an end, charting a clear path to chess improvement! Let's face it: There is a huge wealth of information & learning tools on our site, but so far, no "helping hand" or navigation tool to guide improvers in their quest for chess perfection!

With a little research, we discovered that many of our most active members have not been getting the most "bang" out of our tools and features. In most cases, this is owing to the lack of a cohesive plan to bring complementary learning resources together in an effective, well-rounded program... Those days are over!

Our intrepid directors of content, IMs Pruess and Rensch (with much help from Chess.com's titled contributors) have developed the first Study Plans for Beginners -- and each day this week we will release a new Study Plan! In fact, let's start right now...

#1 Study Plan: Beyond the Basics (Ratings 0-1000)

#2 Study Plan for Beginners: The Opening! (Ratings 1000-1399)

#3 Study Plan for Beginners: Tactics! (Ratings 1000-1399)

#4 Study Plan for Beginners: Strategy! (Ratings 1000-1399)

#5 Study Plan for Beginners: The Endgame! (Ratings 1000-1399)

#6 Study Plan for Beginners: Bringing it All Together! (Ratings 1000-1399)

...And it doesn't end there! Track the webmaster for updates and whenever a new article "Study Plan" is released, you will know. Following "Beginner Week" on Chess.com, we will produce Study Plans for Intermediate Players, and not long after that, Study Plans for Advanced and "Master Path" members!

Please help us help you: tell us how much you love this new feature... or not. All feedback welcome!

Thanks to all of you for helping to make Chess.com the best place to play & learn!
