Bad Timing

Submitted by wizzifnab on Tue, 09/11/2007 at 5:18am.

The 2nd tournament that my nephew and I signed up for was the 2007 Houston Open being run by Cajun Chess from Jully 20-22.

Unfortunately, the Friday that we were to head down to Houston I came down with a cold.  Since my nephew was going to play, I still drove him down and attended the tournament, but I withdrew from actual play.

Robert had a good tournament, scoring 3 out of 5 and raising his rating again, this time to 1435.

Winning clear first in the Open section of this tournament with 4.5 was Amon Simutowe who some may have heard has since earned his 3rd GM norm.
