Someone please tell me how to change my status line!

I have erased my status line a dozen times but every time I look there is the same old four-month old message! How do i get rid of that? Wonderbear

    Click on "Edit" by the status, then either remove the text or type something else. When you're done, press Enter on your keyboard and it saves the status

    after you have erase your status then push 'enter'
