02-27-12 - Ye Are Few In Number

02-27-12 / Ye Are Few In Number

Deuteronomy 7:7-8 /  7The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye
were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:
8But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had
sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed
you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

"O LORD, I AM NOT WORTHY" (Catholic Gregorian Chant)

Traditional Catholic Hymn

1. O Lord, I am not worthy
That Thou should'st come to me,
But speak the words of comfort,
My spirit healed shall be.

2. Oh, come, all you who labor
In sorrow and in pain,
Come, eat This Bread from heaven;
Thy peace and strength regain.

3. O Jesus, we adore Thee,
Our Victim and our Priest,
Whose precious Blood and Body
Become our sacred Feast.

4. O Sacrament most holy,
O Sacrament divine!
All praise and all thanksgiving
Be ev'ry moment Thine.

Why did I choose the picture of the ugly duckling for today's theme?  To somebody on this earth, you
will always be nothing more than an ugly duckling.  People will look down on you, tell you that you
cannot do it, make fun of you - yet they are blind.  You are not truly an ugly duckling - YOU ARE A

If you judge your life based on man's standards, you may get a pretty poor idea of what you are
capable of.  There is no real plan for our lives - we find that the world we live in is a DOG-EAT-DOG
society where the strong survive, and the rest is thrown to the side.

However, with God, it is not this way.  God has particular promises that He has established BEFORE
YOU WERE EVEN BORN.  This is why abortion is so detrimental - mankind is trying to establish
that a person is not a living creation, when God already has a plan ordained for that individual's life IF

What are God's promises for you?  Here are a couple - in Philippians 4:13, we read "I can do all
things through Christ which strengtheneth me."  In 2 Timothy 1:7, we read "For God hath not
given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."  In Hebrews
13:5-6, we read "5Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such
things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.  6So that we
may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me."

God has given us promises for life - He is the one who sees the swan underneath, and not just the
ugly duckling that the world may say you are.  IN GOD'S EYES, YOU ARE A SWAN!

God bless!
