This game is the third game I played in the internal competition at my chess club. After two losses (one caused by a huge blunder, the other I was just outplayed in an opening system I had not seen before) I was hungry for a win.

Because of the two losses my initial rating had completely vaporised and this game I played against the bottom seed. I played white, and my opponent answered my usual 1.d4 2. c4 with 2..cxd4, the queen's gambit accepted. Although I'm not very familiar with this system I managed to exploit the opening to the fullest, answering black's play on the queenside with a crushing kingside attack. The game is below, with full annotations.

That was a very nice game. I enjoyed the annotations too, it was very enjoyable and fun to read. I think the theme of this game could be "do not ignore your opponent's threats, that's what cost the game for black.

..Someone died a violent death over there! Well done, congratulations on winning that game in such a vivid manner.

I'd almost forget that you actually play 1. d4 ;).
