Arlington Action-Plus Chess Tournament

OK, so over the weekend I played in this action chess tournament(My friend was in it too,

read this: I did pretty well. I even faced my friends little brother too :)

Anyways, hope you enjoy the games and the blog.

In this game I played one of the Lohr Brothers. They're really good at chess, there's 4 of them, there ages all range from 8 to 13, and they all have a rating range from 900 to 2100. (They have an 11 year old who's rating is 2005!!!) The game is here:

(BTW, The time control was 45 minutes with 5 second delay.)

After that loss, I really wanted to come back with a win. I was paired white against a 1550, the game went REALLY long, then we both had a time scramble and we both had about 3 minutes left, but 5 second delay saved our butts. See what happend in the game here:

(BTW, My opponent has a account and his username is Triphoria.)

Ok, so now I have to win!!!!!!! Here is the game:

(BTW, my opponent has a username, and his username here is doduobird123. His older brother's username, one of my very good friends, is hessmaster.)

*Note: My Round 3 game is at the very top of the page.

Oh, yeah!!! Full-Point Bye :)

ROUND 5: Here I played one of the little Lohr brothers. He was the Virginia State K-3 champion last year, and now he's in 4th grade.

@UltraLaser: Yeah, 99% of the time I do gambit the pawn, but since this guy was a lot higher rated that me I thought for a while and decided to hold on to the pawn.

Yeah, ok, next time i'll play Bxe7 ;)

    Thxs for feedback!!!

Nice games! Looks like you played well above your rating tbh, congratz!

Btw in the first game, with the Milner-Barry gambit, Bc2 is passive. You should either gambit the pawn, or not play the gambit at all, e.g. Be2 and a3 are possible instead of Bd3.

In the second game, Bxe7 was probably a little better as his bishop can become dangerous later on, but apart from that it looked like you played pretty well! :)

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the games! :)
