The 100th day of the 1000 Bright Minds Chess Simul

I am Attila Turzo, an International Chess Master, and I organize and run the event called the 1000 Bright Minds Chess Simul, in which I play with 1000 players simultaneously on 1000 boards.

Thank you very much to the staff and owners of for making available their platform for holding the 1000 Bright Minds Chess Simul, and for supporting the event.

Thank You dear players for accepting the challenge and giving your best in the first 100    days of the 1000 Bright Minds Chess Simul.

Some numbers about the simul:

1000 games started on the 11th of January in 2012 and 8 more games started when 8 games finished and 8 boards became available for new players.

673 games finished within the first 100 days.

541 games (80%) were won by Attila Turzo

16 games (3%) were drawn.

116 games (17%) were won by the challengers.

335 games are still running.

I made a long research (many games to consider!) to find the best game played to this point, to share with you. I found a game where interesting attacking and counter-attacking ideas were used. My opponent was Peter Holúbek from Slovakia.

I hope you enjoyed the explanations to that game!

New players can join the simul on the boards where the first game has finished. 665 boards are available, 665 new player can join the event.

The first 1000 players participated in this event for free, but to take up one of the empty boards, there is now an entry fee of 10 dollars.

You can buy your ticket through my coaching products page: and then we can start our game immediately!

I wish the best luck to the 335 players who are still playing their first game and I invite all other players to join and be part of the 1000 Bright Minds Chess Simul.

the game that was posted was kinda weird for an IM to post.

Our game so far seems fun.

I dont know how long petopjotr has joint but if his average score is truly 1220 then an IM as you are should not be proud of this victory.

The moves are nice but not entirely original as i have seen similar moves in a number of games before

I think I d prefer a game that shows some mind-struggles from both sides

oh, come on! if this was the best of 673 games, it means that you played just with beginners, or maybe you wanted to show  us an easy win. If this was really the best game you wasted a lot of time.

Nice game. But definetly not the best... show us one of the games you lost???

i can understand why you dont post a losing game though it would prove to be an humble attitude but among the 500+ victories couldn't you have found a more interesting game? and you even say you made a "long research"

hint: you should "research" past the 13th move, otherwise you're just randomly boosting your ego at the cost of a way inferior opponent

Good game, looked a bit like the 'halloween gambit' IMO, thanks for sharing.

Fair comment I think, you should show 'the best game you lost' as well to appear even-handed; however irritating re-living losing can beInnocent

Why not show a game you lost but learnt alot about instead of a easy win and nothing usefull to the audience?

    Thanks Gordon.

czechman01, there are many reasons why he could have a low rating as an IM, for one, he had some rated games in the last Simul (300/day time control) which he had to resign so that he could begin the 1,000 Simul that he is playing now. That cost him some rating points, as well as he tends to have 100's of games a day so his performance will naturally take a toll and lose some of the rated games he is playing. If you look on his profile he has beaten many high rated players on Rating doesn't always mean much online, to many factors why it could be lower/higher than the actual strength of the player. :)

    nice game

its interesting, but there are far too many errors made. Why not comment on and show us one of the games you lost?

I'm confused. How can an IM be rated 1774? What am I missing?

Hey, give the guy playing white in the sample game a break. It's not as if you've never made any mistakes before ever. (If it is, be sure to post every game you've ever played as a response to this comment. I've proven my point.)

wow thats kinda a fail if thats the best game u played

was this the best game you played? lol

Was that really the best game or the eaisiest win for you? Smile Thanks for sharing the game..

I've played this opening as white before, and found out for myself if the Bishop doesn't go back to d3, black can quickly punish whites position.
