The stalemate

An important idea in chess is the stalemate, often the chessplayer underestimates this situation or he ignores it. I think that is very important know the stalemate and to have in our memory some stalemate positions. 

I knew the diagram position when I was playing against a player with 2150 of fide rating and I had this position , my last chance was to enter in the stalemate position, so i played Rb8 to induce at play a7?? ( this is a natural move if you don't know the stalemate position, because he thinks to gain a time ).

My knowledge permitted me to draw an hard match.
